MOTOR VEHICLE COLLISION – C13-030467
On Thursday, February 14, 2013 at approximately 12:00 p.m. Winnipeg Police Service members were dispatched to the area of Corydon Avenue and Park Boulevard North for the report of a motor vehicle collision.
 
Investigation revealed that a Honda Accord was travelling westbound on Corydon Avenue when it was struck by a Hyundai Sante Fe travelling northbound on Park Boulevard North.
 
The 84 year old female driver of the Accord was transported to hospital where she remains in stable condition.  The 25 year old female driver of the Santa Fe was not injured.
 
The investigation is continuing by members of the Central Traffic Unit.
 
 
MOTOR VEHICLE COLLISION – C13-030589
On Thursday, February 14, 2013 at approximately 3:30 p.m. officers were dispatched to the 5000 block of Roblin Boulevard for the report of a motor vehicle collision involving a single vehicle that had just occurred.
 
It was learned that a Honda Civic was westbound on Roblin Boulevard when the driver lost control and struck a tree.
 
The driver was transported to hospital in unstable condition but was later upgraded to stable.
 
Investigation continued by members of the Central Traffic Unit.
 
The 25 year old male driver of Winnipeg was administered an Approved Screening Device (A.S.D.) test during which he registered a 'warn'.  He was subsequently issued a 24 hour suspension of his driver's licence.
 
 
STRONGARM ROBBERY – C13-030866
On Friday, February 15, 2013 at approximately 12:00 a.m. emergency personnel were dispatched to a business in the 600 block of Westminster Avenue for the report of a strongarm robbery that had occurred.
 
Attending officers discovered a 28 year old male victim suffering from wounds to the upper body consistent with having been stabbed.  The victim was transported to hospital in unstable condition and later upgraded to stable.
 
Investigation revealed that the victim was in the parking lot when he was approached by two males.  An altercation between the victim and the two suspects escalated to the point where the victim sustained the aforementioned injuries.
 
Suspect #1 is described as: Caucasian, 20-30 years of age, 5'6"-5'7" in height, 170 pound with a medium build.
 
Suspect #2 is described as: Caucasian with darker skin, mid- twenties, 5'6"-5'7" in height, 150 pounds with short dark hair and a skinny build.
 
The investigation is continuing by members of the Division 11 Crime Unit.  Anyone with information regarding this incident or the suspect(s) is asked to contact investigators at (204) 986-6668 or CrimeStoppers at (204) 786-TIPS (8477).
 
 
FATAL MOTOR VEHICLE COLLISION – C13-030959
On Friday, February 15, 2013 at approximately 6:00 a.m. members of the Winnipeg Police Service were dispatched to the intersection of Isabel Street and Balmoral Avenue for the report of a serious motor vehicle collision involving two vehicles.
 
Responding officers located a 53 year old female pedestrian who had been struck by one of the vehicles.  The victim was transported to hospital where she later succumbed to her injuries.
 
The investigation is in its early stages and is continuing by members of the Central Traffic Unit.  Anyone with information regarding this incident who has not yet spoken with Police is asked to contact investigators at (204) 986-6271or Crime Stoppers at (204) 786-TIPS (8477).
