Monday, February 4, 2013     DRUG INVESTIGATION - ARRESTS R12-120136 C13-22385 In November 2012, members of the Street Crime Unit became involved in a lengthy investigation involving the trafficking of cocaine. As a result, Street Crime Unit members, with the assistance of the Tactical Support Team and Division 13 Community Support Unit executed two Controlled Drug and Substance Act search warrants within the city.   On February 2, 2013, officers executed the first warrant at approximately 10:50 p.m. at a suite locate in the 400 block of Edison Avenue. The second warrant was executed at approximately 11:30 p.m. at a residence located in the 500 block of Bannerman Avenue.   A 24 year old male, 23 year old female, 21 year old male and 21 year old female were located in the suite on Edison Avenue and arrested.   The following items were located and seized by officers on Edison Avenue:   Over 70 grams of Cocaine – estimated street value $5600.00 Approximately $30,000.00 Canadian currency Miscellaneous drug paraphernalia   A 25 year old male was located and arrested at the Bannerman Avenue location.   The following items were located and seized by officers on Bannerman Avenue:   Over 11 grams of Marihuana – estimated street value $165.00 Brass knuckles Bear spray Baton $2000.00 Canadian currency   All five individuals arrested are facing either drug and or weapon related offences.   They have been released on a Promise to Appear.  For further information contact either: Constable Jason Michalyshen, Public Information Officer Constable Eric Hofley, Public Information Officer Office: (204)986-3061 Fax: (204) 986-3267 Email: WPS-PIO@Winnipeg.ca   Web: www.winnipeg.ca/Police
