  Wednesday, February 8, 2012 

 
DRUG ARRESTS – C12-23386
On February 7, 2012, at approximately 8:00 p.m., members of the Organized Crime Unit with the assistance of the Tactical Support Team, Street Crimes Unit and Uniform Patrol, executed a Controlled Drug and Substance Act search warrant at a residence located in the 200 block of Thomas Berry Street.
 
Officers located and seized the following items:
 
·        10 ounces of Cocaine – estimated street value $20,000.00
·        $30,000.00 Canadian Currency
·        Electronic Control Device
 
A 24 year old male and female and a 25 year old female were arrested. They are facing several drug and weapon related offences. They were released on a Promise to Appear.
 
 
DRUG ARRESTS – R12-14233
On February 7, 2012, at approximately 8:45 p.m., members of the Organized Crime Unit with the assistance of the Tactical Support Team, Street Crimes Unit and Uniform Patrol, executed a Controlled Drug and Substance Act search warrant at a residence located in the 100 block of Youville Street.
 
Officers located and seized the following items:
 
·        7 ounces of Cocaine – estimated street value $14,000.00
·        10 grams of Crack Cocaine – estimated street value $800.00
·        10 ½ grams of Powder Cocaine - $400.00
·        $350.00 Canadian Currency
·        Digital scale
·        Packaging material
 
A 24 year old male and female were arrested and are facing several drug related offences. They were released on a Promise to Appear.
 
 
SEXUAL ASSAULT R12-14098
On February 7, 2012, members of the Winnipeg Police Service received the report of a sexual assault which occurred in the area of the 1500 block of Pembina Highway involving a 21 year old female victim.
 
The victim indicated that she was travelling on a city bus northbound on Pembina Highway when an unknown male sat beside her. It was at this time the male suspect proceeded to touch the victim's leg. As a result, the female exited the bus near Crescent Drive and Pembina Highway. The male suspect also exited the bus and began following the victim. The suspect kept pace with the victim and subsequently groped her to the lower body on more than one occasion. The victim eventually reached her destination and proceeded indoors. The suspect stopped following the victim any further.
 
The suspect is described as:
 
·        Male
·        40-50 years of age
·        East Indian in appearance
·        Sparse facial hair
 
Wearing:
 
·        Glasses
·        Dark jacket
·        Hat
·        Hood pulled up
 
The investigation is continuing by members of the District 6 Crimes Unit. Anyone with information regarding this matter is asked to contact investigators at 986-2877 or CrimeStoppers at 786-TIPS (8477).
 
 
COMMERCIAL ROBBERY C12-23512
On February 7, 2012, at approximately 11:00 p.m., Uniform Patrol and Canine Unit members responded to a business located in the 2600 block of Pembina Highway regarding a commercial robbery.
 
The investigation has revealed that 18 year old male and 36 year old female employees were confronted by an armed male suspect. Cash was demanded and an undisclosed amount was obtained by the suspect. No one was injured as a result of the incident.
 
The suspect is described as:
 
·        Male
·        Caucasian
·        25-28 years of age
·        Average to large build
·        5'7"-5'8" tall
 
The suspect was in possession of a knife at the time of the robbery.

COMMERCIAL ROBBERY C12-23342
On February 7, 2012, at approximately 4:40 p.m., Winnipeg Police Service members responded to a business located in the 800 block of Main Street regarding a robbery incident.
 
It has been determined that a male suspect entered the business while armed with what appeared to be a firearm and verbally threatened two male employees. An undisclosed amount of cash and a quantity of merchandise was stolen after a display case was smashed. Several customers were present at the time of the incident.
 
A second suspect was also observed nearby. They are described as follows:
 
Suspect 1 - Male, Caucasian, 6"00" tall, thin build and dark clothing.
 
Suspect 2 – Male, with a stocky build.
 
The investigation is continuing by members of the Major Crimes Unit. Anyone with information regarding this matter is asked to contact investigators at 986-6219 or CrimeStoppers at 786-TIPS (8477).
 
 
COMMERCIAL ROBBERY C12-19543
On February 1, 2012, at approximately 3:25 p.m., Uniform Patrol members responded to a business located in the 600 block of St. Mary's Road regarding a commercial robbery incident.
 
The investigation has revealed that two armed male suspects entered the business while concealing their identity. Money was demanded and an undisclosed amount was obtained. No one was injured as a result of the incident.
 
The suspects are described as follows:
 
Male in possession of a firearm is described as: Caucasian, 5'6"- 5'8" tall, stocky build, 180 lbs., early 30's, medium complexion, wearing: a navy blue ski jacket with the hood up, black mini-stretch gloves and a black balaclava.
 
Male in possession of an Electronic Control Device (Taser) is described as: Caucasian, 5'6"-5'8" tall, stocky build, 180 lbs., 35 years of age, wearing: a blue/green ski jacket with a dark hoodie underneath with the hood up and pulled down covering his forehead, a balaclava or neck warmer over lower face, black mini-stretch gloves and dark coloured pants.
  
            
 
The investigation is continuing by members of the Major Crimes Unit. Anyone with information regarding this matter or the identity of the suspects is asked to contact investigators at 986-6219 or CrimeStoppers at 786-TIPS (8477).
