SHOT(S) – DAMAGE TO PROPERTY C12-25472
On February 11, 2012, at approximately 1:40 a.m., officers responded to a residence located in the 200 block of McIntosh Avenue regarding a shot(s) fired. 
 
Attending members met with two males (21 years) who were home at the time of the incident.
 
The investigation has revealed that sometime after 1:00 a.m., the two occupants heard the sounds of glass breaking, believing it to be as a result of a firearm discharge. No one was injured as a result.
 
Officers confirmed damage to the front window of the property, including evidence that a firearm discharge may have taken place.
 
No arrests have been made at this time.
 
The investigation is continuing.
 
 
COMMERCIAL ROBBERY C12-25771
On February 11, 2012, at approximately 2:15 p.m., Winnipeg Police Service members responded to a business located in the 500 block of Sargent Avenue regarding a commercial robbery incident.
 
Attending members met with a 48 year old female employee. She indicated that shortly after 2:00 p.m. she observed an unknown male enter the business through the front door. It was learned that the suspect was armed with a handgun at the time of the incident. The suspect initially asked if they were open, at which time he demanded money. The victim refused when the suspect physically took hold of her.
 
The suspect subsequently robbed the victim of an undisclosed amount of cash, jewellery and other personal items.
 
As a result of the incident, the victim sustained minor injuries, which were treated at the scene by paramedics.
 
The suspect is described as:
 
·        Male
·        Aboriginal in appearance
·        6'0"- 6'1" tall
·        Approximately 25 years of age
·        Average build
·        No facial hair
 
The investigation is continuing by members of the Major Crimes Unit. Anyone with information regarding the robbery is asked to contact investigators at 986-6219 or CrimeStoppers at 786-TIPS (8477).
 
  
RESIDENTIAL ROBBERY – ARRESTS C12-26072
On February 11, 2012, at approximately 11:30 p.m., officers responded to the 600 block of Talbot Avenue regarding a residential break and enter in progress.
 
The investigation has revealed that three armed male suspects while concealing their identity attended to the residence and forced entry. A 45 year old male resident was confronted and physically assaulted, causing minor injuries.
 
An undisclosed amount of cash and other personal items were stolen before the suspects fled the area in a vehicle.
 
Due to the efforts of uniform patrol members, the suspect vehicle was located in the area of Main Street and Kingsbury Avenue, where a traffic stop was initiated. One of the suspects was taken into custody, however two others fled the area on foot.
 
Members of the WPS Canine Unit also attended and subsequently tracked and arrested the fleeing suspects in the area of Ballard Crescent.
 
The investigation continued by members of the Major Crimes Unit.
 
A 20 year old male, 25 year old male and 31 year old male are facing numerous charges including: Break, Enter a dwelling house, Disguise with intent and Assault with a weapon.
 
 They have been detained.
 
 
HOMICIDE INVESTIGATION C12-26194
On February 12, 2012, at approximately 4:00 a.m., members of the Winnipeg Police Service were dispatched to the area of Simcoe Street and Wellington Avenue regarding reports of an injured male.
 
Responding members, including other emergency personal located an adult male outside in the 600 block of Simcoe Street. He was transported to hospital in critical condition where he was later pronounced deceased. 
 
Members of the Homicide Unit have been notified and are investigating.
 
The male has not been positively identified at this time. Injuries sustained and cause of death has not yet been confirmed pending a future autopsy.
