Monday, February 6th, 2012 COMMERCIAL BREAK AND ENTER C12-22205 On February 5th, 2012 just before 8:00 p.m. Winnipeg Police Service Division 16 uniform members responded to a commercial break and enter at a boat club within the 1st 100 block of Churchill Drive. Reports indicate three male youths, all approximately 16 years of age, wearing dark clothing, were in the area at the time glass was heard breaking. Upon arrival officers confirmed the break in and noted that the club had extensive damage to the interior of the premise. The damage included smashed windows, doors and electronic items. Damage is estimated at $20,000. Assorted power tools and lawn equipment were also stolen from the premise. SUSPICIOUS VEHICLE C12-21424 On February 4th, 2012 at approximately 1:30 p.m., two male children, 2 and 13 years, were walking in the area of Arbuthnot Street and Corydon Avenue when they observed a white coloured van being driven in the area by a male. As the boys exited a convenience store in the area, the van proceeded to again drive by slowly and appeared to be following them. Then, as the boys were walking near Arbuthnot Street and McMillan Avenue the van stopped and male driver exited the vehicle and asked the children if they would like a ride. A ride was refused and the driver re-entered the van and began to drive away. The boys returned home and police were notified. The following is a description of the driver and the vehicle: Driver Male, Caucasian, approximately 50 years of age, 5'10" tall with a slim build, wearing a grey hat, a grey winter jacket, and dark sunglasses. Vehicle White mini-van with dark tinted windows. No plate number was obtained. VEHICLE ROBBERY- UPDATE- VEHICLE LOCATED C12-20881 As, previously released, on February 3rd, 2012 shortly before 5:00 p.m. Winnipeg Police Service East District Members responded to a large shopping centre on Bishop Grandin Boulevard for a report of vehicle robbery that had just occurred. Upon arrival officers met with a 27 year old female and learned that she had just parked and exited her vehicle when she was approached from behind by a male suspect. The suspect produced a handgun and demanded the victim's car keys. The victim turned over her keys and fled into the shopping centre were police were notified. On February 5th, 2012 at 7:40 p.m., patrolling East District police members located the stolen 2008 White Volkswagen Rabbit, bearing Manitoba plate ERK 959, in the area of the 1st 100 block of Donwood Drive. The suspect is described as: Male, Caucasian, approximately 15 to16 years old, wearing a white ski jacket and a dark coloured toque. This investigation is continuing by members of the Major Crimes Unit.
