Winnipeg Police Service News Release

Tuesday, February 7th, 2012          PROJECT DEPLETE- UPDATE ARREST As previously released, on February 3rd, 2012, the Manitoba Integrated Organized Crime Task Force (MIOCTF), along with over 80 police officers, made numerous arrests and conducted searches as part of a long-term investigation known as Project DEPLETE.    As a result of the investigation 7 individuals were arrested for their alleged involvement and warrants for arrest were obtained for 6 other individuals.    The following individual has since been arrested;   Elmer John DEATO, 26 years old   A warrant for arrest remains in effect for the following individual:   David Thomas, 29 years of Winnipeg, Manitoba Charges:                    Possession of a Restricted Firearm                                     Weapons Trafficking                                     Possession of Proceeds of Crime     Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of THOMAS is asked to contact CrimeStoppers at 786-TIPS (8477).   - 30 - Contacts:                                                                                                                                                                                       Sgt Line Karpish                                         Cst.
