Homicide Update – C14-174517
As previously reported, on August 17, 2014 at approximately 1:30 p.m. a body was recovered from the Red River in the area of the Alexander Docks.
 
An autopsy has been completed and the victim has been identified as 15-year-old Tina FONTAINE. FONTAINE was reported missing on August 9, 2014 and was last seen in the downtown area of Winnipeg on Friday, August 8 (R14-58544 refers).


 
        
      
 

At the time of her disappearance FONTAINE was described as an Aboriginal female, 5'3" tall, approximately 100 pounds with a thin build, brown/black hair (shaved on one side / long on the other ) and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a white skirt, blue jacket and pink & white runners.
 
Members of Tina's family have been notified and they, along with the Homicide Unit, are requesting the public's assistance in identifying the person(s) responsible.
