Theft From Motor Vehicles Arrests – R14-60198
On August 15, 2014 at approximately 6:00 a.m. members of the Winnipeg Police Service came across three male youths on bicycles in the area of St. Mary's Road & Ward Avenue.  Upon speaking with them, officers learned that the bikes they were riding had been recently stolen.
 
The three youths were turned over to members of the East District Crime Unit who continued with the investigation.  It was revealed that throughout the night, the males had attended to various locations throughout the St. Vital - River Park area and stole property from several vehicles, yards and an unknown garage.  The areas where thefts from vehicles have been confirmed include:

  • 1st 100 block of Hirt Crescent
  • 200 block of Barlow Court
  • 600 block of John Forsyth Road
  • 1st 100 block of Yachts Cove
  • 1st 100 block of Paddington Road

The three males, 12, 13 and 16 years of age, all of Winnipeg have been charged with several theft related offences for their alleged involvement.
 
All three were detained in custody.
 
The investigation is continuing.  Anyone who may have been a victim of a similar crime in the above areas during the night of August 14/15 is asked to contact investigators at (204) 986-2857.
