Suspicious Person Update – Arrest – C14-165645
As previously reported, on Wednesday, August 6, 2014 shortly after 1:00 a.m. members of the Winnipeg Police Service were dispatched for the report of a suspicious person.

Officers met with the 15 year old complainant who advised that at approximately 12:00 a.m. she had been walking in the area of Rouge Road and Brown Bay.  At this time she was followed by an unknown male.  Becoming fearful for her safety she began to run.  The suspect chased after the victim and attempted to grab her, taking hold of her arm.  The victim screamed out and the suspect fled.

 

The suspect was described as: Aboriginal in appearance, 30-40 years of age, approximately 5'8" tall with a medium build.  He was wearing a black hoody and black pants.


The investigation continued by members of the West District Crime Unit who were able to identify a suspect.

Anthony ABIGOSIS, 40 years of Winnipeg has been charged with Assault for his alleged involvement.

He was detained at the Provincial Remand Centre.
 

Child Pornography Arrest – R13-69004
In September of 2013 members of the Internet Child Exploitation Unit (ICE) were contacted by German law enforcement.  Information provided was that one of their investigations had revealed that a resident of Winnipeg was in possession of child pornography.

ICE members entered into a lengthy investigation and as a result were able to identify a suspect.

On August 6, 2014 investigators executed a search warrant in the 1000 block of Isbister Street at which time the lone resident was arrested without incident.

A 45-year-old male from Winnipeg is facing charges of Possession of Child Pornography, Access any Child Pornography and Imports, Distributes, Make Available Child Pornography for his alleged involvement.

He was released via a Promise to Appear.
