Wednesday, August 20, 2014       Update - Suspicious Person – Arrest - C14-174531 As previously released, on August 17, 2014 shortly after 1:30 p.m. the Winnipeg Police Service received the report of a suspicious male in the area of Central Park.   Officers met with the complainant who advised that at approximately 12:30 p.m. she and her five year old son had been at the park.  It was at this time that an unknown male attempted to lure her son away.  A lifeguard intervened and the male left the area.  Her son was not injured.   The male was described as: Black, approximately 25 years of age, 5'6" - 5'7" tall with a slim build.  He was wearing red hooded jacket, green shorts, gold necklace and was carrying a green & black Thomas Engine backpack.   The investigation continued by members of the Division 11 Crime Unit and a suspect was identified.   On August 19, 2014 investigators located and arrested the 23 year-old suspect without incident.   Tyrone Olawemi Abdul TIJANI-MAZUR of Winnipeghas been charged with the following offences due to his alleged involvement:   Abduction of Person Under Fourteen Years of Age Possession of a Scheduled Substance – Cannabis Resin Fail to Comply with Probation Order Fail to Comply Condition Undertaking by Officer in Charge   He was remanded into custody.   The Winnipeg Police Service would like to thank members of the public and media for their assistance in this matter.     For further information contact either: Constable Jason Michalyshen, Public Information Officer Constable Eric Hofley, Public Information Officer Detective Sergeant Natalie Aitken, Public Information Officer Phone: (204) 986-3061 | Fax: (204) 986-3267 | Email: WPS-PIO@Winnipeg.ca Share this mailing with your social network by clicking on the appropriate link:       Related Winnipeg Police Service Report a Crime Online Crime Stoppers CrimeStat Unsubscribe If you do not want to receive these emails anymore, unsubscribe.
