Update:  Missing Person- Amber Guiboche -  R10-94044
The Winnipeg Police Service Missing Persons Unit is continuing to request the public's assistance in locating a missing female, Amber Rose Marie GUIBOCHE.
 
GUIBOCHE, who was 20 years old at the time of her disappearance, was last seen on the evening of Wednesday, November 10, 2010, in the area of William Avenue and Isabel Street.  Investigators believe that GUIBOCHE may have entered into a red truck at that time.
 

 
At the time of her disappearance GUIBOCHE was described as being a female with a fair complexion, 5'5" tall, approximately 105 pounds, hazel eyes; thin build with long straight brown hair often worn in a ponytail.  She was last seen wearing a white Adidas hoody with gold stripes down the sleeves. She was also wearing "skinny" style blue jeans with white and pink coloured, skater-style runners.
 
New information has come to light identifying a potential person of interest in this investigation.  This individual is described as:
 
Caucasian, approximately 30 years of age, short hair, looked reddish from the sides, hairy arms - light reddish/blondish, stubble, and possibly wearing prescription glasses.  He was wearing a green camouflage baseball cap - faded.

 

This person of interest may have descriptors similar to the below composite drawing and baseball hat.

 
This male, who may at times have frequented outside the City of Winnipeg, was driving an older model red truck, possibly a Chevrolet, with bench seats inside.

Shots Fired Investigation- C14- 170286
On August 12, 2014 at approximately 4:30 a.m. Winnipeg Police Service members responded to the report of shots fired into a residence within the 400 block of Prichard Avenue.
 
Upon arrival officers located evidence confirming that a firearm was discharged in the area.
 
The residence was occupied at the time, he occupants were not injured. 
 
An extensive area search was conducted for the suspect(s), which met with negative results.

Commercial Robbery- Arrest C14-124754
On June 14, 2014 shortly before 10:30 p.m. a lone female had attended a grocery store in the 500 block of Mountain Avenue where she proceeded to gather an assortment of food products valued at approximately $200. This was observed by the store's loss prevention officer (LPO).  When the female exited the store without paying for the items the LPO followed outside and attempted to take her into custody. The female suspect produced a knife and struck the LPO in the upper body causing significant injury.

 

Members of the Winnipeg Police Service were called and the subsequent investigation led to the identification of the female suspect.
 

On August 11, 2014 at approximately 10:00 a.m. a 31-year-old female was taken into custody without incident in the area of Midland Street and Saskatchewan Avenue.
 
As a result of her alleged involvement, Melanie Faith JOHNSTON, 31 years of Winnipeg has been charged with the following offences: 
 
Robbery
Assault with a Weapon x 2
Possession Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose
Utter Threats and
Fail to comply with Probation Order
 
JOHNSTON has been detained in custody.
 
Suspicious Male C14-169667
On August 11, 2014 shortly after 11:00 a.m. Winnipeg Police Service members responded to the 200 block of Dalhousie Drive for a report of a male acting suspiciously near a child care centre.
 
Officers learned that male had been watching children through a set of binoculars. As staff members approached to speak with the male, he immediately left the area.
 
Person of Interest: Asian Male, 55-60 years, 5'6" tall, approximately 150 pounds with short black hair. He was wearing a black T shirt with his jeans rolled up past his ankles and was carrying a camouflage bag.
