Assault with a Weapon – Arrest C14-177709
On August 21, 2014 at approximately 3:30 p.m., in the area of the 100 block of Henry Avenue, an argument occurred between two males known to each other.
 
One of the males involved produced a large sword and proceeded to stab a 42 year-old male multiple times. The suspect fled and emergency services were notified.
 
The victim was transported from the scene in critical condition, later upgraded to stable.
 
The investigation continued by members of the Major Crimes Unit.
 
At approximately 10:00 p.m., Joshua KENNEDY, 18 years-old was located and arrested in the area of the 500 block of Stella Avenue.
 
KENNEDY has been charged with the following due to his alleged involvement:
 
Assault with a Weapon
Possession of a Weapon
 
He was remanded into custody. 
 
  
Commercial Robbery C14-178093
On August 22, 2014 at approximately 1:15 a.m., officers patrolling in the area of the 700 block of Flora Avenue were flagged down by a 24 year-old female who had just been robbed.
 
It was discovered that the victim had been delivering pizza in the area when she was bear sprayed and robbed of a pizza order.
 
The suspect is described as: Male, Aboriginal in appearance, 25 years-old, 6'0" tall and slim build.
 
The investigation is continuing by members of the Major Crimes Unit. Anyone with additional information is encouraged to contact investigators at 204-986-6219 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).
