Saturday, September 7, 2013       COMMERCIAL ROBBERY ARREST – C13-180412 On September 6, 2013 at approximately 7:10 a.m., patrol members, including members of the Canine Unit responded to a commercial robbery incident involving a convenience store located in the 700 block of Mountain Avenue.   An armed male suspect, while attempting to conceal his identity entered the business and confronted an employee. While making demands, the suspect assaulted a 44 year old male customer with a weapon causing non-life-threatening injuries. The suspect was disarmed at which time he fled in a vehicle empty handed.   Police were notified. The investigation led officers to a residence located in the 900 block of Magnus Avenue.   The suspect was located and arrested at approximately 8:40 a.m.   The investigation continued by members of the Major Crimes Unit and Forensic Identification Unit.   Mathew DESJARLAIS, 28 years-oldhas been charged with the following offences due to his alleged involvement:   Robbery with Weapon Disguise with Intent Assault with a Weapon Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose Fail to Comply with Condition Recognizance x 2 Theft over $5000.00 (HTA) Drive without a Licence   He was detained.      WEAPON AND DRUG ARREST – C13-180574 On September 6, 2013 at approximately 12:25 p.m., officers responded to the area of the first 100 block of Beliveau Road regarding reports of a male armed with a gun.   The investigation has revealed that a male suspect had become involved in a verbal argument with another male near a playground in the area. An adult supervisor observed the dispute and attempted to intervene. It was at this time the suspect produced a pellet hand gun.
