UPDATE - HOMICIDE INVESTIGATION   C13-178802
As previously released- on September 4th, 2013 at approximately 7:50 a.m., members of the Winnipeg Police Service responded to a suite located in the 200 block of Chestnut Street regarding two occupants located deceased.
 
The deceased have been identified as: Unice Ophelia CROW, 19 years-old and Trevor James SINCLAIR, 31 years-old.
 
Members of the Homicide Unit with the assistance of the Forensic Identification Unit continue to investigate.
 
The cause of death is pending the results of autopsies and toxicology reports.
 
Investigators have been able to confirm that family members last had contact with the deceased on Thursday, August 29, 2013.
 
The Winnipeg Police Service is requesting anyone who may have had contact with the deceased prior to the incident to please contact investigators at 204-986-6508 or CrimeStoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).
 
 
COMMERCIAL ROBBERIES – ARREST   C13-178608
Between June 8th and September 3rd, 2013 members of the Winnipeg Police Service responded to several commercial robbery incidents involving an adult male suspect.
 
The incidents are as follows:
 
June 8th – 9:30 a.m. – Gas Station, 1000 block of St. Mary's Road
June 8th – 10:20 p.m. – Gas Station, first 100 block of Alpine Drive
July 2nd – 10:50 p.m. - Gas Station, 1000 block of St. Mary's Road
July 6th – 10:50 a.m. – Restaurant, 1500 block of St. Mary's Road
July 6th – 6:20 p.m. – Store, 100 block of St. Anne's Road
July 6th – 9:30 p.m. – Restaurant, first 100 block of Vermillion Road
September 3rd – 10:15 p.m. – Gas Station, 1000 block St. Mary's Road
 
During these incidents, the armed suspect would confront staff while attempting to conceal his identity. Threats were made and an undisclosed amount of cash was stolen. There were no injuries reported.  
 
On September 3, 2013 at approximately 10:40 p.m., an armed suspect attended to a video store located in the 600 block of St. Anne's Road and robbed a clerk of an undisclosed amount of cash before fleeing in a vehicle.
 
A member of the Tactical Support Team observed a suspicious vehicle in the area and notified additional WPS members. Due to the efforts of Patrol members, Detectives and Street Crime Unit members, the male suspect was taken into custody.
 
The investigation continued by members of the Major Crimes Unit and the Forensic Identification Unit.
 
Alan Patrick MCGREGOR, 49 years-oldhas been charged with the following offences due to his alleged involvement:
 
Robbery with Weapon x 6
Attempt Robbery with Weapon x 2
Disguise with Intent x 8
Possess Weapon for Dangerous Purpose x 8
Utter threat to cause Death or Bodily Harm
 
He was detained.
 
  
GROW OPERATION – ARREST   R13-62509
On September 4, 2013 at approximately 7:00 p.m., members of the Marihuana Grow Operation Unit with the assistance of the Tactical Support Team and Patrol Units executed a Controlled Drug and Substance Act search warrant at a residence located in the 1000 block of Isbister Street.
 
An adult male was located inside and arrested.
 
A search of the residence revealed the following:
 
126 Marihuana plants - estimated street value $141,120.00
13 ½ lbs. of dried packaged marihuana – estimated street value $33,750.00
Grow operation equipment valued at $12,000.00
 
A 44 year-old male is facing the following charges:
 
Production of Controlled Substance
Possessing substance for the Purpose of Trafficking
Theft over $5000.00
 
He was released on a Promise to Appear.
