COMMERCIAL BREAK & ENTER ARREST – C13-082230
On May 3, 2013 the Winnipeg Police Service received the report of a break & enter to an apartment complex in the 400 block of Westwood Drive.
 
Attending officers learned that the suspect had broken into the complex via the front doors and then attended to the parkade where he proceeded to damage 11 vehicles.
 
On June 1, 2013 a male suspect attended to a grocery store in the 1600 block of Ness Avenue where he proceeded to steal merchandise.  He returned to the store later the same day and returned the stolen items, receiving cash in return.
 
The investigations continued by members of the District 2 Crime Unit and with the assistance of the Forensic Services Unit a suspect was identified.
 
On Wednesday, September 18, 2013 Sean Mark O'HANDLEY 36 years of Winnipeg was arrested.  He has been charged with multiple offences for his alleged involvement and was detained at the Provincial Remand Centre.
 
 
BREAK & ENTER ARREST – R13-053307
Members of the District 3 Crime Unit became involved in an investigation involving multiple garage break and enters.  The incidents include:

  • Between July 29 & 30, 2013 in the 800 block of Lansdowne Avenue (R13-53307)
  • August 3, 2013 in the 200 block of McAdam Avenue (R13-54665)
  • August 14, 2013 in the 900 block of College Avenue (C13-162239)
  • August 14, 2013 in the 600 block of Bannerman Avenue (R13-57492)
  • August 31, 2013 in the 700 block of College Avenue (C13-176734)
  • September 13, 2013 in the 1300 block of Selkirk Avenue (R13-65566)

With the assistance of the Pawn Unit a suspect was identified.
 
On Wednesday, September 18, 2013 District 3 Crime Unit members arrested a 44 year old male from Winnipeg.  He is facing charges of Break, Enter a place – commit indictable offence x 6 for his alleged involvement.

He was released via a Promise to Appear.
 
 
COMMERCIAL ROBBERY – C13-190844
On Thursday, September 19, 2013 at approximately 3:45 a.m. members of the Winnipeg Police Service were dispatched for the report of a commercial robbery that had occurred at a convenience store in the 1st 100 block of Osborne Street.
 
Responding officers met with an employee who advised that an unknown male, armed with a weapon had entered the store and attended to the counter.  The male demanded and received an undisclosed amount of money after which he fled on foot.
 
The clerk was not injured during the incident.
 
The suspect is described as: Aboriginal in appearance, 30 - 35 years of age, 5'10" – 6' tall with an average build and long dark hair in a ponytail.
 
The investigation is continuing by members of the Major Crimes Unit. Anyone with information regarding this matter or the identity of the suspect(s) is asked to contact investigators at (204) 986-6219 or Crime Stoppers at (204) 786-TIPS (8477).
