FINANCIAL INSTITUTION ROBBERY - C13-188677
On Monday, September 16, 2013 at approximately 2:00 p.m., members of the Winnipeg Police Service were dispatched for the report of a robbery that had just occurred at a financial institution in the 3400 block of Portage Avenue.
 
The investigation revealed that a lone male suspect armed with a weapon attended to this location and confronted several employees.  The suspect demanded and received an undisclosed amount of cash including Korean Wons after which he immediately fled from the location.
 
No one was injured during the incident.
 
The suspect is described as: Caucasian male, mid 20s, over 6' in height, 180-200 pounds with a thin build, dark eyes and dark eyebrows.
 
The investigation is continuing by members of the Major Crimes Unit.  Anyone with information regarding this matter or having recent unusual transaction(s) involving the Korean Won is asked to contact investigators at 204-986-6219 or CrimeStoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).
 
 
SUSPICIOUS PERSON – C13-189386
On Tuesday, September 17, 2013 the Winnipeg Police Service received the report of a suspicious person.
 
Officers met with the 10 year old female victim who advised that at approximately 11:30 a.m. she had been walking in the area of Hamel Avenue and De La Morenie Street.  At this time she noticed an unknown male following her.  Unsure of his intentions, she began to run at which time the male began to chase after her.  The victim was able to run to a relative's residence at which time police were contacted.  The suspect never said anything and did not come in physical contact with the victim.

The suspect is described as: Caucasian, 25-30 years of age with short brown hair and a skinny build.

The investigation is continuing by members of the East District Crime Unit.  Anyone with information regarding this incident or the identity of the suspect(s) is asked to contact investigators at (204) 986-2857 or CrimeStoppers at (204) 786-TIPS (8477).
 
 
COMMERCIAL BREAK & ENTER ARRESTS – C13-189935
On Wednesday, September 18, 2013 shortly after 2:00 a.m. members of the Winnipeg Police Service were dispatched to the 1st 100 block of Sutherland Avenue for the report of a break & enter in progress.
 
Responding members attended to the area and with the assistance of AIR1 three suspects were located and arrested without incident.
 
It was learned that the three suspects had broken into a fenced compound and stolen copper rods which were recovered at the time of the suspects' arrest.
 
Joseph Edward James SANDERSON 20 years of Winnipeg has been charged with Break, Enter a place – commit indictable offence & Breach of Probation for his alleged involvement.
 
Ralph Michael ZEBRASKY 20 years of Winnipeg has been charged with Break, Enter a place – commit indictable offence for his alleged involvement.
 
Both have been detained at the Provincial Remand Centre.
 
A 28 year old male from Winnipeg is facing a charge of Break, Enter a place – commit indictable offence for his alleged involvement.  He was released via a Promise to Appear.
