ASSAULT WITH A WEAPON - INVESTIGATION C13-186891
Emergency personnel responded to the area of Portage Avenue and Maryland Street at approximately 3:20 a.m. regarding an incident involving two male victims.
One of the victims is believed to have been stabbed and the other physically assaulted.
Both victims are currently in stable condition and WPS members continue to investigate the circumstances.
The investigation is in its early stages and limited information is available at this time.

COMMERCIAL BREAK-IN ARREST C13-185979
On September 13, 2013 at approximately 2:00 a.m., an automotive business was broken into in the area of the 400 block of Dawson Road N.
The suspect, while in possession of a stolen truck forced entry into the business causing significant damage. While inside, the suspect proceeded to steal an undisclosed amount of automotive parts and place them into the stolen vehicle.
The suspect encountered a dog on the premises at which time the animal was struck with a sledge hammer causing injuries.
The owner was alerted to the break-in and notified police immediately.
Patrol members quickly responded and attempted to prevent the suspect from fleeing the parking lot to the business. It was at this time, the suspect fled in the vehicle having no regard for public safety. The suspect was observed travelling at a high rate of speed while in residential areas and disobeying numerous traffic control devices.
The suspect continued to drive erratically in the area Speers Road and Dawson Road N at which time he sped over a ditch and jumped over a set of railway tracks.
The suspect stopped and fled from the stolen vehicle on foot. He entered a business in the area of the 500 block of Mission Street where he attempted to hide from police.
Members of the WPS Canine Unit tracked the suspect to the business where he was hiding. He was arrested and taken into custody.
The investigation continued by members of the East District Crime Unit with the assistance of the Forensic Identification Unit.
Douglas James SINCLAIR, 34 year-old has been charged with the following and detained due to his alleged involvement:
Break, Enter a Place x 3
Flight from Police Officer
Possess Property Obtained by Crime x 3
Dangerous Operation Motor Vehicle
Theft over $5000.00
Possession Break-In Instruments
Killing or Injuring Animals
HTA Drive without a licence
