COMMERCIAL ROBBERY- ARRESTS           C13-187767

On September 15, 2013 at approximately 4:35 a.m. Winnipeg Police Service members responded to a gas bar within the 1300 block of McPhillips Street for a report of a commercial robbery that had just occurred by two male suspects.  Attending officers learned that the suspects had their identities disguised and were armed with a knife when they demanded and received a quantity of cigarettes and money.  The suspects fled to an awaiting vehicle.  The clerk was not injured. 
 
Prior to the robbery being broadcast, patrolling Division 13 Uniform Members observed a Pontiac Grand Am travelled through a red light westbound Inkster Boulevard at McPhillips Street at a high rate of speed. Officers were able to catch up to this vehicle and conducted a traffic stop in the rear lane of the first 100 block of Mapleglen Drive. 
 
At approximately 4:45 a.m. the four male occupants of the vehicle, aged 18, 21, and two 19 year olds, were arrested for the robbery and were taken into custody without incident. 

Division 13 Crime Unit Members continued with the investigation resulting in the suspects facing a number of charges including Robbery with a Weapon.
