MOTOR VEHICLE COLLISION INVOLVING PEDESTRIANS – UPDATE C11-125632
As previously released, on June 17th, 2011 at approximately 10:45 p.m., members of the Winnipeg Police Service were dispatched to the 100 block of Crestwood Crescent regarding a serious motor vehicle collision involving two pedestrians.
 
Attending members discovered that two male pedestrians, both 19 years of age were walking eastbound on Crestwood Crescent when they were struck from behind by an eastbound vehicle. Both pedestrians were conveyed to hospital. One of the pedestrians has since been treated and released from hospital. The other pedestrian had been initially transported to hospital in critical condition. Late in the day yesterday (Saturday) his condition had improved to serious condition.
 
Please be advised that the condition of the 19 year old male has been downgraded to critical.   
 
A 41 year old male driver of a GMC Envoy has been arrested and is facing charges of Impaired Driving Cause Bodily Harm x 2.
 
He has been detained.
