Commercial Robbery Update – Arrest - C14-73316
As previously released, on April 11, 2014 at approximately 7:20 p.m., four suspects robbed a convenience store located in the 800 block of Mountain Avenue.
 
The suspects entered the business while concealing their identity and confronted staff. A 51 year-old male was stabbed and the business was robbed of lottery, tobacco and cash.
 
A 62 year-old male customer was also assaulted during the incident.
 
The victims were listed in stable condition.
 
The investigation continued by members of the Major Crimes Unit who were able to identify two of the suspects.
 
On April 15, 2014 Cameron Earl BAPTISTE 20 years & Brandon Lee George HUNTER 19 years both of Winnipeg were located and arrested for their alleged involvement.
 
Both males have been charged with several Robbery-related offences and were detained at the Provincial Remand Centre.
 
On May 6, 2014, a third suspect was taken into custody without incident in the 1300 block of Selkirk Avenue.  Hugh Keith SWITZER, 20 years of Winnipeg has been charged with Robbery-related offences for his alleged involvement.
 
Efforts to locate the last remaining suspect are on-going.
 
 
Residential Robbery- Update- Arrests - C14-87032
As previously released, on April 30, 2014 at approximately 6:00 a.m., officers responded to two business located in the 1500 block of Arlington Street and the 700 block of Mountain Avenue regarding two injured males.
 
The victims were located and transported to hospital.
 
Attending officers determined that the incident originated at a residence located in the 700 block of Alfred Avenue. Three male victims, 17, 18 and 32 years, were present when two armed males attacked them, immediately after entering the residence.
 
The three victims sustained serious injuries to their upper bodies.
 
As a result of the lengthy investigation by members of the District 3 Crime Unit, two suspect males were identified.  
 
David Robert BOURASSA, 21 years and Rudy CARPENTER, 19 years have been charged with numerous offences including Aggravated Assault, Break Enter and Commit indictable offence for their alleged involvement in this incident.
 
Both males have been remanded into custody.
