Drug Arrests – R14-33792
Recently, members of the Marihuana Grow Operation Unit entered into a drug investigation regarding a residence in the 600 block of Aberdeen Avenue.  As a result of the investigation a Controlled Drugs & Substances Act (C.D.S.A.) search warrant was applied for and granted.
 
On May 14, 2014 with the assistance of General Patrol members and the Tactical Support Team the warrant was executed.  Three residents were arrested without incident.
 
A search of the residence resulted in the seizure of the following:

  • 487 marihuana plants with an estimated street value of $545,440.00
  • 4 pounds of dry marihuana with an estimated street value of $10,000.00
  • Grow operation equipment valued at $5,000.00

A 48 year old female and two males, 48 & 20 years of age, all of Winnipeg are each facing charges of Produce a Scheduled Substance - CANNABIS (MARIHUANA) & Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – CANNABIS (MARIHUANA).
 
All three were released via Promises to Appear.

Commercial Robbery Arrest – C14-98888
On May 14, 2014 shortly before 11:00 p.m. members of the Winnipeg Police Service were dispatched for the report of a commercial robbery in the 1400 block of Main Street.
 
Information provided was that an armed male, with his identity concealed, had robbed the restaurant of an undisclosed amount of cash.  The clerk was not hurt.
 
Several units, including General Patrol, Canine and AIR1 attended to the area.  The suspect was located and arrested without incident in the area of Salter Street and Cathedral Avenue.
 
Members of the Major Crime Unit continued with the investigation.
 
Clarence Dean HUNTINGHAWK 19 years of Winnipeg has been charged with several offences for his alleged involvement.
 
He was detained at the Provincial Remand Centre.
