Commercial Robbery Arrests – C14-104579
On May 22, 2014 at approximately 1:15 a.m., a lone male suspect attended to a convenience store located in the 800 block of Regent Avenue West and confronted staff.
 
The suspect immediately discharged a canister of bear spray striking one of the employees. The suspect then robbed the business of an undisclosed amount of merchandise before fleeing.
 
Emergency services were notified and the victim was transported to hospital in stable condition.
 
The suspect met up with a second male suspect and began walking in the area of Brewster Street and Regent Avenue West.
 
West District Patrol members observed the suspects inside a bus shelter at which time they were taken into custody. Weapons, including the stolen merchandise were recovered.
 
An 18 year-old male and 15 year-old male are facing the following charges:
 
18 year-old male
Robbery
Conspiracy to Commit an Indictable Offence
Possession of a Weapon x 2
Carrying Concealed Weapon Prohibited Device or Ammunition x 2
Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Weapon
 
He was released on a Promise to Appear.
 
15 year-old male
Robbery
Disguise with Intent
Possession of a Weapon
Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Weapon
 
He was detained at the Manitoba Youth Centre.
 
 
Commercial Robbery – C14-104638
On May 22, 2014 at 3:50 a.m., an armed male suspect entered a convenience store located in the 900 block of Archibald Street and confronted staff.
 
Money and cigarettes were demanded and the suspect fled with an undisclosed amount. No one was injured as a result of the incident.
 
The suspect is described as:
 
Male
Fair complexion
25-30 years-old
6'00" tall
Slim build
 
Members of the Major Crimes Unit have been notified and continue to investigate. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact investigators at 204-986-6219 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).
 
 
Suspicious Male – C14-103437
On May 20, 2014 at approximately 4:00 p.m., an 11 year-old male was walking home in the area of the 300 block of Lindenwood Drive East when he was confronted by an unknown male.
 
The suspect was observed to exit his vehicle and offer the child candy. The victim declined and began yelling for help. The suspect returned to his vehicle and left the area.
 
The suspect is described as: Male, Caucasian, 50 years-old, 6'00" tall, heavy build, short grey hair, wearing a dark jacket.
 
Members of the West District Crime Unit have been notified. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact investigators at 204-986-2877 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).
