Friday, April 15, 2011 MANITOBA MOTORCYCLE RIDE FOR DAD The Motorcycle Ride for Dad is a Canada-wide fundraiser dedicated to prostate cancer research and education. The event, which is in its 11th year nation-wide and its third year in Manitoba, brings together motorcycle enthusiasts and all members of the community. The Winnipeg Police Service is proud to continue to support this very special fundraising and awareness event which is spear-headed by the Winnipeg Police Association and locally presented by Manitoba Lotteries. The 2009 inaugural Manitoba Motorcycle Ride for Dad in 2009 was a success with 487 registered riders, 9,012 pledge donors and a total of $69,000.00 has been raised for the cause. The 2011 Ride for Dad will take place on Saturday, May 28, 2011 starting at Polo Park. This year's goal is to bring awareness to the fight against prostate cancer by increasing registered riders, adding to last year's successful fundraising total.
