Winnipeg Police Service News Release

SEXUAL ASSAULT                                                              C11-65482
On Monday, April 4th, 2011 the Winnipeg Police Service was dispatched to a report of a sexual assault that occurred at approximately 2:15 a.m. in the St. James area.
 
A female in her early sixties was returning to her residence when she was confronted by an unknown male. The male sexually assaulted the victim who was eventually able to fend off the attacker. The victim was not physically injured.
 
The suspect is described as:
 
  • Male, possibly Caucasian or light coloured skin
  • 18 to 20 years
  • Approximately six feet, slim build
  • Wearing a dark coloured hoodie tied tight around his face and dark sweat pants
 
This incident appears similar in nature to three suspicious incidents reported on previously that occurred in Division 13. Winnipeg Police Service Sex Crimes Unit is investigating the possibility that one suspect may be responsible for all four incidents.
