Winnipeg Police Service News Release

FRAUD INVESTIGATION- ARREST      R10-104780
In December 2010, the Winnipeg Police Service Commercial Crime Unit began an investigation involving an employee at the Manitoba Pharmaceutical Association.  This investigation has revealed that between January 1st, 2009 and August 10th, 2010, an undisclosed amount of monies were stolen and a number of documents were forged and uttered.  
 
On March 22nd, 2011, a 49 year old female of Winnipeg, attended to the Public Safety Building where she was arrested and charged with the following offences:
 
-          Utter Forged Document
-          Make Forged Document
-          Theft Under
-          Mischief to Data
 
Then on March 29th, 2011, after further consultation with the Crown Attorneys' Office, two additional charges were authorized:
 
-          Secret Commissions
-          Breach of Trust
 
The 49 year old female has been released on a Promise to Appear.  This investigation is still ongoing by members of the Commercial Crime Unit. 
 
 
WARRANTS EXECUTED – UPDATE            R10-89804
On Wednesday, April 6th, 2011 members of the Winnipeg Police Service Organized Crime Unit, assisted by numerous other police units, executed a number of warrants throughout the City.
 
The project, code named "Napoleon", commenced in November 2010 and targeted organized crime and drug operations.
 
As a result of this investigation search warrants were executed on the following residences:
 
200 block of Nassau Street  
300 block of River Road
2300 block of St. Marys Road
200 block of Vermillion Road
  
The following have been seized in relation to this investigation: 
 
- Approximately 16 ounces of Cocaine, estimated street value $26,000.00
- An estimated two kilograms of cutting agent
- 14 grams Marihuana, with an estimated street value of $1400.00
- Approximately $4000.00 Canadian Currency
- Approximately $60.00 US Currency
- Approximately $50.00 of Methamphetamine  
- Assorted packaging material and a digital scale
- One firearm and ammunition  
 
Joel Richard BRUNEAU 21 years of Winnipeg has been charged with the following offences for his alleged involvement:
 
- Unsafe storage prohibited firearm and numerous firearms related offences
- Possession of a prohibited firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized to wit: no firearms license
- Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose
- Possession of controlled drug, marihuana
 
Nicholas Dylan BRUNEAU 24 years, of Winnipeg has been charged with possessing controlled drug or substance- Cannabis Marihuana and failing to comply with the condition of recognizance.
 
Andrew Jeremy BURVILL 22 years, of Winnipeg has been charged with the following offences for his alleged involvement:
 
-          Possessing substance for the purpose of trafficking- cocaine
-          Possessing controlled drug or substance- cannabis marihuana
-          Possess proceeds of crime
 
He has been detained in custody at the Winnipeg Remand Centre.
 
A 21 year old female of Winnipeg will be facing charges of possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine and marihuana.  She has been released on promise to appear. 
 
A 22 year male and an 18 year old female of Winnipeg will be facing charges of possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine and marihuana, as well as proceeds of crime.  
 
Both have been released on a promise to appear.
