The Winnipeg Police Service will be opening the West District Station for full operation on Friday November 8, 2013 at 8:30 a.m.

In 2003, City Council approved a plan by the WPS to proceed with a Four District Model, from the six district configuration in place at that time.  The West District Station is the second of three new police facilities and amalgamates District 2 (west area of the city) and District 6 (southwest area of the city).

The West District Station is located at 2321 Grant Avenue.  The station will house Uniform Operations, a Plainclothes Investigation Unit, a Service Centre and a Community Support Unit.

Effective Friday, November 8, 2013 at 6:00 a.m. the District 2 station located at 210 Lyle Street and District 6 station located at 1350 Pembina Highway will be closed.

Members of the public will be able to file reports at the West District Station service centre between the hours of 8:30 am and 6:30 pm.
