COMMERCIAL ROBBERY ARREST   C13-238311
On November 19th, 2013 at approximately 10:15 p.m., Winnipeg Police Service members were dispatched to the 400 block of Selkirk Avenue for the report of a commercial robbery.
 
It was determined that a lone male with his identity concealed had entered the store and cigarettes. The clerks were not injured and the suspect fled.
 
At approximately 10:30 p.m. patrolling officers located a male youth matching the suspect description a few blocks away.
 
A 16 year-old male was arrested. He has been charged with:
 
Armed Robbery – Weapon/Imitation
Disguise with Intent
 
He was detained at the Manitoba Youth Centre.
 
 
GROW OPERATION – ARREST R13-85802
On October 23, 2013 members of the Marihuana Grow Operation Unit with the assistance of the Tactical Support Team and District 4 Patrol members, executed a Controlled Drug & Substance Act search warrant at a residence located in the 400 block of Monroe Avenue.
 
Two males, 51 and 37 years-old were located inside the home and arrested.
 
A search of the home revealed the following:
 
530 Marihuana plants – estimated street value $593,600.
Grow operation equipment - $9,500
234 grams of Marihuana – estimated street value $234

pieces of Crack Cocaine - $140

The 51 year-old male is facing the following charges:

  • Production of Controlled Substance (Marihuana)
  • Possessing Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking (Marihuana)

The 37 year-old male is facing the following charges:

  • Production of Controlled Substance (Marihuana)
  • Possessing Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking (Marihuana)
  • Possess Controlled Substance - Cocaine

Both accused were released on a Promise to Appear.
