FINANCIAL INSTITUTION ROBBERY ARREST - C13-188677
As previously released, on Monday, September 16, 2013 at approximately 2:00 p.m., members of the Winnipeg Police Service were dispatched for the report of a robbery that had just occurred at a financial institution in the 3400 block of Portage Avenue.
 
The investigation revealed that a lone male suspect armed with a weapon attended to this location and confronted several employees.  The suspect demanded and received an undisclosed amount of cash including Korean Wons after which he immediately fled from the location.
 
No one was injured during the incident.
 
The investigation continued by members of the Major Crimes Unit and as a result a suspect was identified.
 
On November 21, 2013 investigators arrested Jeffrey Allan SUMMERFIELD 37 years of Calgary.  He has been charged with Armed Robbery – Weapon/Imitation & Disguise with Intent for his alleged involvement.
 
He was detained at the Provincial Remand Centre.
 
 
CDSA WARRANT ARREST – C13-239268
Members of the East District Crime unit recently became involved in a drug investigation.  As a result a Controlled Drug and Substances Act search warrant was obtained for a residence in the 200 block of Day Street.
 
On November 21, 2013 with the assistance of Uniform and Tactical Support Team members the warrant was executed.
 
The following was seized:
 

  • Cocaine with an estimated street value of $21,280.00.
  • $285.00 in Canadian currency
  • Drug paraphernalia


A 23 year old male from Winnipeg is facing charges of Possessing substance for purposes of trafficking – COCAINE & Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime for his alleged involvement.
 
He was released via a Promise to Appear.
