DANGEROUS OPERATION OF A MOTOR VEHICLE – ARREST  
C13-231252
On November 9, 2013 at approximately 11:45 p.m., District 3 Patrol members observed a black Dodge Avenger travelling westbound on Jarvis Avenue near King Street at a high rate of speed while disobeying a traffic control device (stop sign).
 
Officers attempted to stop the vehicle however, the driver continued at a high rate of speed having no regard for public safety.
 
Members of the Flight Operations Unit (Air1) and Canine Unit members quickly responded to assist.
 
The suspect vehicle continued northbound on King Street near Dufferin Avenue at which time additional traffic control devices were ignored.
 
Air1 maintained a visual on the suspect vehicle while communicating with Patrol and Canine Unit members.
 
The vehicle eventually stopped and the occupants fled to a residence in the area of the 300 block of Polson Avenue.
 
The driver was located and arrested. A 17 year-old male is facing the following charges:
 
Flight from police officer
Dangerous operation – motor vehicle
HTA – Disobey traffic control device
HTA – Drive without a licence – with an invalid licence
 
He was released on a Promise to Appear.
