Weapons – Arrest: C18-196212
 
On September 7, 2018, at approximately 10:30 a.m., the Winnipeg Police Service received a report of a male armed appeared to be a firearm in the 1400 block of Jack Blick Avenue.
 
A West District General Patrol unit arrived in the area a short time later and observed a male suspect enter Polo Park mall. Officers gave chase and took the male into custody in an adjacent parking lot. The male was found to be in possession of a black handgun-style pellet gun and bolt-cutters.
 
It is believed that the suspect had first stolen a pair of shoes from a nearby business. The suspect attended to another business and attempted to steal a locked bicycle using the bolt-cutters. He then pointed the weapon at an individual who had confronted him at which point the suspect fled on foot.
 
A 22-year-old male of Winnipeg has been arrested for:
 
- Carrying Concealed Weapon Prohibited Device or Ammunition
- Possession of a Weapon
- Pointing a Firearm
- Mischief Under $5,000/Obstruct in Enjoyment
- Theft Under $5000
