Robbery - Arrest: C18-205039
On September 17, 2018, at approximately 5:00 p.m., emergency services personnel responded to a report of a Robbery at a convenience store in the 100 block of Hargrave Street. An employee advised that a lone male attended the store and demanded access to an attached building. When denied access, the suspect produced a knife and attempted to steal lottery tickets but was unsuccessful and fled.
   
Officers searched the area and located a suspect at Garry Street and St. Mary Avenue. He was placed under arrest and a knife was located in the suspect's pant pocket. The suspect admitted to injecting methamphetamine earlier in the day.
   
Moses Bradley SWAN, a 22-year-old male of Winnipeg was charged with:

  • Robbery
  • Carry Concealed Weapon, Prohibited Device or Ammunition
  • Possess Weapon
  • Fail to Comply with Probation X4 

He was detained in custody.
   
Thefts/Robberies – Arrest: C18-205178   
Between June 15, 2018, and August 27, 2018, a female suspect attended various Liquor Mart locations around the city of Winnipeg. The suspect would enter the store, select several liquor bottles and exit the store without making any attempt to pay. A quantity of liquor worth approximately $3,760 was stolen over the course of 19 incidents.
   
During the evening of August 4, 2018, two female suspects attended a retail store in the 600 block of Empress Street, selected approximately $360 in merchandise and exited the store without making any attempt to pay. The females were confronted by an employee at which time one of the suspects produced a metal pipe and threatened the employee before they both fled.
  
During the evening of September 10, 2018, a female suspect attended a retail store in the 1200 block of St. Mary's Road, selected approximately $95 in merchandise and exited the store without making any attempt to pay. The female was confronted by several Security Officers at which time she stated she had bear spray and a knife. She then showed a knife and threatened the Security Officers before she fled.
   
During the evening of September 17, 2018, a female suspect attended the same retail store in the 1200 block of St. Mary's Road, selected approximately $200 in merchandise and exited the store without making any attempt to pay. The female was confronted by several Security Officers and was placed under arrest.
   
East District General Patrol officers attended a short time later and took the female into custody. The investigation continued by members of the Major Crimes Unit.
   
Alycia Yvonne Leitch, a 25-year-old female of Winnipeg,has been charged with a number of theft and robbery-related offences.
   
She was detained in custody.
