Firearm – Arrests: R18-62257
 
During the evening of September 20, 2018, East District Community Support Unit members executed a warrant on a residence in the first 100 block of Fiorentino Street with the assistance of the Oakbank RCMP.
 
Members of the Oakbank RCMP were seeking two suspects involved in an investigation into mailbox thefts in the RM of Springfield, RM of St. Clements, East St. Paul, and Selkirk areas.
 
Inside the residence, officers located a loaded sawed-off shotgun wrapped in Hells Angels support clothing. A female was also found hiding in the hollowed-out back of a loveseat sofa. A male was also later taken into custody.
 
Brady Elizabeth Kara Laverdure, a 29-year-old female of Winnipeg, has been charged with:
 
- Store Firearm or Restricted Weapon Contrary to Regulations
- Possession of a Weapon
- Possession of a Firearm Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized
- Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Firearm with Ammunition
- Possession of Firearm, Restricted/Prohibited Weapon or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order
 
She was also processed on three outstanding warrants for:
 
- Obstruction of Justice
- Fail to Comply Condition Recognizance by Judge/Justice (x4)
- Fail to Appear – Promise to Appear
 
Ryan Donald Fortescue, a 44-year-old male of Winnipeg, has been charged with:
 
- Store Firearm or Restricted Weapon Contrary to Regulations
- Possession of a Weapon
- Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
- Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Firearm with Ammunition
- Fail to Comply Condition Recognizance by Judge/Justice
 
They were detained in custody.
