Public Advisory - Traffic Delays Expected
The "World's Largest Truck Convoy for Special Olympics" is a project of the Law Enforcement Torch Run working in conjunction with members of the trucking industry to raise funds and awareness. The 2017 event saw 188 trucks participate and raised $78,000 for Manitoba Special Olympians. To date, the Manitoba Truck Convoy has raised over $500,000 for Special Olympics Manitoba.
   
The 2018 Manitoba convoy event will be held on Saturday, September 22, 2018. Trucks will meet at the Trans Canada Centre in Ile De Chenes and depart at 11:00 a.m. Participants will convoy northbound on Provincial Trunk Highway 59, continue around the Perimeter Highway and return to Ile De Chenes. It is anticipated that 200 trucks will drive in the convoy.  
   
The traveling public may experience delays along this route as the convoy passes. The convoy is expected to take approximately one and a half hours.
