Train Collision – Investigation: C18-214101
 
On September 28, 2018, at approximately 9:25 a.m., members of the Winnipeg Police Service responded to a report of suspicious circumstances near a railway north of Wilkes Avenue and west of Shaftesbury Boulevard.
 
An engineer on a passing train observed an injured person on the tracks of the railway and immediately contacted police. The train was halted and officers arrived on scene a short time later.
 
The individual, identified as a male in his 30's, was transported to hospital in critical condition where he remains at this time.
 
The circumstances of the male's injuries are unknown at this time but they are not believed to be criminal in nature.
 
This investigation is continuing by members of the Traffic Unit. Anyone with information that may assist investigators is asked to call 204-986-7085 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).
