Indecent Act- Arrest – C14-126545

As previously released, on June 17, 2014 at 11:20 a.m., a 42-year-old female had selected some clothing to try on while at a retail store in the St. Vital area and proceeded to one of the fitting rooms.
 
Once inside and in a state of undress, the female victim observed what appeared to be a cellular device being held above her and recording. The victim immediately exited the fitting room and began calling out for assistance.
 
It was at this time an unknown male exited the adjoining fitting room and fled the store.
 
The investigation continued by members of the East District Crime Unit with the assistance of Store Security and Management. 
 
The investigation led to the suspect being identified.  On June 19 the suspect male was arrested without incident with the assistance of local police in a small town south of Winnipeg.
 
A 33-year-old male from Southern Manitoba is facing a charge of Voyeurism for his alleged involvement.
 
He was released via a Promise to Appear.
 
 
Theft From Motor Vehicles- Arrests – C14-127987

On June 19, 2014, shortly after 2:45 a.m. Winnipeg Police Service Uniform members responded to the area of the 600 block of Cambridge Street for the report of three males who were observed attempting to open vehicles. The observant witness provided police with descriptions of the suspects.
 
A number of police units attended and determined that a number of vehicles in the area had been broken into. At approximately 4:00 a.m., officers located three suspect males in the area of Corydon Avenue and Daly Street who were taken into custody without incident. 
 
A variety of stolen property has been recovered.
 
Two 14-year-old males and a 15-year-old male will be facing the following charges:

  • Possession of Goods Obtained by Crime
  • Theft Under X3
  • Possess Credit Card X2 and
  • Use Credit Card x1  

The 15-year-old has been detained at the Manitoba Youth Centre, while the two 14-year-olds have been released to appear in court at a later date.
