Update - Serious Assault Investigation Arrest - C14-43973
As previously released - On March 1, 2014 at approximately 6:45 p.m., officers responded to a bar located in the 700 block of Maryland Street regarding a fight involving two male suspects.
 
Attending members located a 60 year-old male victim with serious upper body injuries.
 
The investigation revealed that a verbal altercation erupted between two males and the victim. The dispute escalated at which time the victim was physically assaulted.
 
The suspects fled and the victim was transported to hospital.
 
The investigation continued by members of the Division 11 Crime Unit.
 
Investigators requested the public's assistance and surveillance photos of the suspects were made public. Due to this assistance, one of the suspects was identified and arrested.
 
On June 7, 2014, Farrell ROSS, 25 years-old of Winnipeg was located and arrested. He has been charged with the following due to his alleged involvement:
 
Aggravated Assault
Breach of Recognizance
Fail to Comply with Probation Order
 
He remains in custody.
 
The investigation continues. 
 
 
 
Serious Assault - Arrest – C14-118306
On June 7, 2014 at approximately 2:50 a.m., officers responded to the 500 block of Burnell Street regarding a fight involving two males.
 
The two had previously been socializing and consuming alcohol when a 26 year-old male began physically assaulting a 25 year-old male. The altercation continued resulting in the victim sustaining numerous cuts and lacerations.
 
The victim eventually fled the suite on foot at which time police were notified. Patrol and Tactical Support Unit members responded.
 
The victim was located in the area of Ellice Avenue/Arlington Street and transported to hospital in stable condition.
 
The investigation continued by members of the Division 11 Crime Unit.
 
Michael MCDONALD, 26 years-old of Winnipegwas arrested and charged with the following due to his alleged involvement:
 
Aggravated Assault
Forcible Confinement
Uttering Threats – Cause Death or Bodily Harm
 
He remains in custody.
