Commercial Robbery Arrest – C14-69095
On April 5, 2014 at approximately 8:00 p.m., an armed male suspect entered a food store located in the 600 block of Wellington Avenue and confronted staff.
 
While armed and disguised, the suspect demanded cash and began assaulting a 51 year-old male employee. A physical altercation continued for several minutes resulting in the victim sustaining multiple injuries.
 
The suspect eventually fled empty handed.
 
Police were notified and members of the Major Crimes Unit continued to investigate. As a result of the investigation, the male suspect was identified.
 
Cameron DELARONDE, 28 years-old of Winnipeg has been charged with the following due to his alleged involvement:
 
Robbery
Disguise with Intent
Carrying Concealed Weapon Prohibited Device or Ammunition
Possession of a Weapon
 
He was remanded into custody.
 
The investigation is continuing.
 
 
Grow Operation Arrest – R14-33298
On June 4, 2014, members of the Marihuana Grow Operation Unit (MGO), with the assistance of the Tactical Support Team and Uniform Patrol, executed a Controlled Drug and Substance Act (CDSA) search warrant at a residence located on Trieste Way. 
 
Searches conducted revealed the following seized items:
                                                                                                                
435 Marihuana plants – estimated street value $487,200.00
8 ½ lbs. dry Marihuana – estimated street value $21,500.00
Grow operation equipment - valued at $6000.00
Canadian currency – over $3000.00
 
At approximately 4:30 p.m., a 39 year-old male was arrested in the area. He is facing the following offences:
 
Produce a Scheduled Substance – Marihuana
Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose Trafficking – Marihuana
Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime
 
The male was released on a Promise to Appear.
