Indecent Act Investigation – C14-126545
On June 17, 2014 at 11:20 a.m., a 42 year-old female had selected some clothing to try on while at a retail store in the St. Vital area and proceeded to one of the fitting rooms.
 
Once inside and in a state of undress, the female victim observed what appeared to be a cellular device being held above her and recording. The victim immediately exited the fitting room and began calling out for assistance.
 
It was at this time an unknown male exited the adjoining fitting room and fled the store.
 
Officers responded, however no arrest has been made at this time.
 
The investigation is continuing by members of the East District Crime Unit with the assistance of Store Security and Management.

Weapons Arrest – C14-126960
On June 17, 2014 at approximately 9:45 p.m., members of the Division 11 Community Support Unit were patrolling in the area of Maryland Street and Ellice Avenue when they came into contact with a male riding his bike in an unsafe manner.

As a result of the investigation, officers located a loaded sawed-off shotgun contained in a backpack the male was carrying.

The gun was seized and the 16 year-old male was arrested. He is facing the following charges:

Transport Firearm or Restricted Weapon
Possession of a Weapon
Possession of a Firearm knowing its Possession is Unauthorized
Possession of a Firearm knowing Serial Number has been tampered with
Carrying Concealed Weapon Prohibited Device or Ammunition

He was released on a Promise to Appear.
 

 

Commercial Robbery – C14-127046
On June 17, 2014 at approximately 11:40 p.m., three male suspects, two of which were armed, entered a beer vendor located on Alpine Drive.
 
The suspects confronted two male employees in their twenties and demanded cash. The business was robbed of an undisclosed amount. All three suspects fled on foot.
 
No injuries were sustained.
 
Suspect 1: Aboriginal in appearance, 5'9'' tall, skinny build, 150-160 lbs., wearing a black sweater with the hood up, white camouflage neck warmer covering his face, sunglasses, dark gloves and dark pants

Suspect 2: Aboriginal in appearance, 6'0"-6'1'' tall, skinny build, 150 lbs., wearing a white hoody covered in dark patterns with the hood up, white neck warmer covering his face and grey sweat pants

Suspect 3:  Aboriginal in appearance, skinny build, wearing a black hoody with the hood up and a white bandana covering his face
