Mischief Endangering Life Arrests – C14-126985
On June 17, 2014, at approximately 10:15 p.m., three male youth attended to the overpass located at Pembina Highway and Bishop Grandin Boulevard and began throwing rocks at vehicles travelling in an eastbound direction.
 
The youth, having no regard for public safety proceeded to throw rocks at four vehicles causing damage estimated at a total of $2,500.00:
 
Nissan Versa
Toyota Sienna
Ford F150
Volkswagen Jetta
 
It should be noted that the vehicles involved were travelling at approximately 80 km/hr. when they were struck.
 
Three of the victims pulled over and began pursuing the youths on foot. A 22 year-old male victim caught up with one of the youth at which time he (victim) was assaulted to the upper body.
 
Attending members located and arrested two of the suspects with the assistance and cooperation of the victims involved.
 
While one of the youth was in police custody, an officer was assaulted to the upper body causing minor injuries.
 
A 13 year-old male is facing the following charges:
 
Mischief Endangering Life x 4
Assault
Assault Peace Officer
 
A second 13 year-old male is facing the following charges:
 
Mischief Endangering Life x 4
 
Both males were released on a Promise to Appear.
 
The investigation is continuing regarding the third male youth, yet to be arrested.
