Suspicious Person – C14-116198
On June 4, 2014 the Winnipeg Police Service received the report of a suspicious person.
 
Officers met with the 10 year old victim who related that at approximately 4:00 p.m. that day she had been walking in the area of Lumsden Avenue and Kay Crescent.  An unknown male grabbed her by the arm and stated 'Let's go to Hedges' (an elementary school in the area).  The victim was able to break free and police were notified.
 
The male is described as: Caucasian with tanned skin, 6' tall, 25-30 years of age, clean shaven with a skinny build, black hair and scars on both hands.  He was wearing a white shirt and black pants. 
 
The investigation is continuing by members of the West District Crime Unit. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact investigators at 204-986-2877 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).
 
 
Break & Enter Arrest Update – C14-114880
As previously released, on March 28, 2014 at approximately 3:30 a.m. the Winnipeg Police Service received the report of break & enter to an attached garage that had just occurred in the 1st 100 block of Ranchgrove Bay.
 
Officers met with the homeowner who advised that he had heard his garage door opening.  When he went to investigate he found that his vehicles parked in the driveway had been broken into.  One of the vehicles contained a remote which the suspects then used to enter the garage.  Personal property was stolen as a result.
 
On June 3, 2014 shortly before 6:30 a.m. a homeowner in the 300 block of Regent Avenue West observed two males breaking into his detached garage.  The homeowner gave chase, apprehended one of the males and held him for police.  The 13 year old male from Winnipeg was charged and detained at the Manitoba Youth Centre.
 
The investigation continued by East District Crime Unit members who were able to identify the second suspect.
 
On June 5, 2014 at approximately 9:45 a.m. investigators located and arrested a second 13 year old male from Winnipeg.
 
Further investigation revealed that he and the previously arrested male were responsible for two further break-ins that occurred at the same residence on May 2 & 27, 2014 in the 500 block of Madeline Street.
 
The male has been charged with Break Enter & Commit – Place x 3 and Break Enter & Commit – Dwelling House for his alleged involvement.
 
He was detained at the Manitoba Youth Centre.
