HOMICIDE INVESTIGATION- UPDATE  C14-66174
As previously released, on April 1, 2014 shortly before 3:00 p.m. Winnipeg Police Service members were summoned to an apartment building within the 400 block of Elgin Avenue after a deceased male was discovered. 
 
Upon arrival, officers located a deceased male within his suite. The victim has been identified as John David GOUNDRY, 51 years of Winnipeg.
 
The cause of death is not being released at this time. 
 
Identification Unit members remain on scene.
 
Homicide Unit members are continuing with this investigation and are requesting the public's assistance in attempts to establish the deceased's daily patterns.
 
Anyone who has any information about deceased's activities or who has had contact with Mr. GOUNDRY since the beginning of March is asked to contact the Homicide Unit at (204) 986-6508 or Crime Stoppers at (204) 786-TIPS (8477).  
 
 
FINANCIAL ROBBERY C14-66689
On April 2, 2014 shortly after 10:30 a.m. Winnipeg Police Service members were dispatched to a financial institution within the 200 block of Portage Avenue for a robbery that had just occurred. 
 
Upon arrival officers learned that a lone male had approached a 38-year-old male teller and produced a note demanding money.
 
The suspect received an undisclosed amount of cash and fled.
 
The suspect is described as: Male, Aboriginal in appearance, approximately 35 years old, 5'6" to 5'8" tall with a heavy build and pock-marked cheeks.  He was wearing a jacket and jeans.
