HOMICIDE ARREST – C14-71321
As previously released, on April 9, 2014 shortly before 1:00 a.m. an adult female attended to the Victoria Hospital suffering from undisclosed injuries.  She later succumbed to her injuries.
 
The victim has been identified as Beverly CUSTER 34 years of Winnipeg.
 
The investigation continued by members of the Homicide Unit.
 
It was learned that the victim and the accused had been involved in a verbal argument at their residence in the 100 block of Barrington Avenue.  The argument escalated to the point where the accused armed him-self with a knife and stabbed the victim once in the upper body.  The suspect then drove the victim to the hospital.
 
Keith Alexander WALLACE 28 years of Winnipeg has been charged with Manslaughter for his alleged involvement.
 
He was detained at the Provincial Remand Centre.
 
 
ATTEMPT ABDUCTION – UPDATE - R14-22759
As previously released, on March 29, 2014 shortly after 10:00 p.m. a 17-year-old female was walking in the area of Sterling Avenue and Homewood Drive when a car with three male occupants approached her.  The male passenger offered her a ride home, which the victim ignored and kept walking.

The vehicle then continued on, turned around and approached the victim again. The passenger exited the vehicle, grabbed the victim by the arm and demanded that she get into the car. The victim managed to break free and run away.

The vehicle is described as a 2-door blue Pontiac Sunfire.
 

The suspicious males are described as:

Suspect #1: Caucasian male, approximately 20 years, with blonde hair.  He was wearing a toque and a dark jacket.

This investigation is continuing and the following composite drawing of suspect #2 (passenger) has been composed:



Caucasian male, approximately 20 years, 5'10"- 6'0" tall with a skinny build and short hair.  He was wearing a dark jacket and jeans.

HOMICIDE INVESTIGATION- UPDATE - C14-66174
As previously released, on April 1, 2014 shortly before 3:00 p.m. Winnipeg Police Service members were summoned to an apartment building within the 400 block of Elgin Avenue for the report of a deceased male. 
 
Upon arrival, officers located a deceased male within his suite, previously identified as John David GOUNDRY, 51 years of Winnipeg.

 

An autopsy has been completed.  The cause of death is not being released at this time. 
 
Members of the Homicide Unit are continuing with the investigation.  At this time it is believed that the homicide occurred between March 2 & 7, 2014 within the victim's suite.
 
To date, the investigation has revealed that the victim had only a small group of friends who visited his residence.  The public's assistance is being requested in identifying anyone who may have been involved in his life or visited the victim's suite between March 2 & 7, 2014.
 
The victim, who had limited mobility, was known to travel within the downtown area on his bicycle.
