HOMICIDE INVESTIGATION   C14-73969
On April 12, 2014 shortly after 5:00 p.m., members of the Winnipeg Police Service received information indicating that a male had been shot, requiring officers and other emergency personnel to respond to the 400 block of Pacific Avenue.
 
Attending members located an adult male suffering from an apparent gunshot wound requiring immediate medical attention. The male was transported from the scene in critical condition, however he was later pronounced deceased in hospital.
 
The deceased has been identified as: Geoffrey Oliver REID, 27 years-old of Winnipeg. Family notifications have been made.
 
Results of an autopsy are pending.
 
Members of the Homicide Unit were notified and continue to investigate.
 
The investigation has led Detectives to a residence located in the 300 block of Alexander Avenue where the shooting is believed to have occurred. After sustaining the injury, the victim fled the residence and was later located by police on Pacific Avenue.
 
No charges have been laid at this time. Interviews are on-going.
