Winnipeg Police Service News Release:

Wednesday, March 7, 2012     SEXUAL ASSAULT INVESTIGATION R12-21837 On March 2, 2012, at approximately 5:30 p.m., the Winnipeg Police Service received a report of a sexual assault that occurred in the area of Pembina Highway and Killarney Avenue, involving a 17 year old female victim.   The investigation has revealed that the victim was walking in the area at approximately 3:00 p.m., when a vehicle containing a lone male occupant approached her. The male suspect confronted the victim from behind and groped her to the upper body. He then attempted to pull the victim toward his vehicle however the victim was able to defend herself. It was at this time she fled the area on foot.   The victim was not injured as a result of the incident.   The suspect is described as:   ·        Male ·        40 years ·        Grey hair and beard ·        Wearing a black toque   The suspect vehicle is described:   ·        Small, white van   The investigation is continuing by members of the District 6 Crime Unit.
