Winnipeg Police Service News Release:

Monday, March 19, 2012     ASSAULT WITH A WEAPON INVESTIGATION C12-49431 On March 19, 2012, at approximately 1:30 a.m., members of the Winnipeg Police Service responded to an assault in progress in the area of the 200 block of Stella Walk.   Attending members located an injured 23 year old male in the area of the 200 block of Dufferin Avenue and learned that the suspects had since fled the area. The victim sustained multiple injuries as a result of being physically assaulted and stabbed. He was conveyed to hospital in critical condition but has been upgraded to stable condition.   At this stage of the investigation, it appears that the victim was confronted by three suspects described as: Males, in their late teens, Aboriginal in appearance, wearing dark clothing.   No arrests have been made at this time.   The investigation is continuing by members of the District 3 Crime Unit.
