INDECENT ACTS C12-42481 C12-42482
On March 8, 2012, at approximately 7:00 p.m., uniform patrol members were dispatched to the area of Ross Avenue West and Cecil Street regarding reports of two separate indecent act incidents.
 
At approximately 6:45 p.m., a 10 year old female had been walking in the area when an unknown male approached her from behind. The male briefly spoke to the victim, and then proceeded to expose himself. The victim ran to a nearby residence where police were notified. No contact was made and the victim was uninjured.
 
The suspect is described as: Male, Caucasian, 17 years of age, slim build, 5'8" tall and short brown hair.
 
A short time later, officers responded to the same area for the report of a second similar incident.
 
Officers discovered that an 11 year old female had been confronted by an unknown male who proceeded to expose himself while performing an indecent act.
 
The victim was not injured.
 
A similar description of the suspect was provided.
 
Officers searched the area however, the suspect was not located.
 
The investigation is continuing by members of the Division 11 Crime Unit. Anyone with information regarding these incidents or further suspect information is asked to investigators at 204-986-3061 or CrimeStoppers at 204-986-TIPS (8477).

DRUG INVESTIGATION - ARRESTS C12-42250
On March 8, 2012, members of the Winnipeg Police Service Street Crimes Unit became involved in a drug investigation in the area of the 300 block of Broadway.
 
As a result, officers conducted a traffic stop at approximately 3:30 p.m., in the area of McDermot Avenue and Rorie Street. Two occupants were identified and arrested. The following items were located and seized:
 
·        16.4 grams of powder Cocaine – estimated street value $1300.00
·        $215.00 Canadian currency
·        2 Cellular phones
 
The investigation continued which resulted in officers executing a Controlled Drug and Substance Act search warrant at a residence located in the 300 block of Broadway. The following items were located and seized from within the residence:
 
·        4 x 1 gram baggies of powder Cocaine – estimated street value $ 1300.00
·        75 Ecstasy tablets – estimated street value - $1500.00
·        .5 grams crushed yellow powder (Ecstasy)
·        Digital scale
·        Drug paraphernalia
·        3 cellular phones
·        $150.00 Canadian currency
·        Kusari – 8-ball striking weapon with holding mechanism
·        Machete
·        Baseball Bat – taped/roped handle
 
A 24 year old male and 19 year old female are facing numerous drug and weapon related offences. They were released on a Promise to Appear.
 
 
TRAFFIC PURSUIT – ARRESTS C12-42686
On March 9, 2012, at approximately 1:49 a.m., uniform patrol members attempted to conduct a traffic stop in the area of Pembina Highway and Killarney Avenue.
 
Officers observed several occupants at which time the suspect vehicle fled from police. For approximately 30 minutes, the driver of the suspect vehicle refused to comply with police, resulting in a pursuit throughout Richmond West and ending in the Royal Wood area of the city.
 
Involved members made numerous attempts to safely stop the fleeing vehicle including the use of a Tire Deflation Device.
 
In an effort to evade police further, the driver of the suspect vehicle drove directly onto the railway tracks northbound, (CPR Emerson) where it was abandoned near the rear of Breton Bay.
 
The suspects fled the area on foot in a westbound direction at which time members of the Canine Unit were deployed.
 
Due to the efforts of the Canine Unit and other involved members, all four suspects were located in the rear yard of a residence on Southside Drive. All four suspects were taken into custody without further incident.
 
A 20 year old male driver and 16 year old male occupant are facing charges, some of which include: Assault with a Weapon x 3, Dangerous Operation of Motor Vehicle, Flight from Peace Officer, Fail to Comply with Conditions of an Undertaking, including several Highway Traffic Act Offences.
