Winnipeg Police Service News Release

Wednesday, November 9th, 2011 3:45 p.m.     POLICE INVESTIGATION- ARREST       C11-235809 On November 9th, 2011 just after 2:00 p.m. Winnipeg Police Service Members were patrolling in the area of Charles Street and Flora Avenue when they observed a suspicious male riding a bicycle.  This male immediately fled upon seeing police.    A brief foot chase ensued and a male youth was taken into custody.  Paramedics attended and transported the youth to the hospital in stable condition.      The Major Crimes Unit is investigating the possibility that this male may be responsible for other recent robbery incidents.      This investigation is in its early stages.  Further information is expected to be released tomorrow.      For further information contact either: Constable Natalie Aitken, Public Information Officer Constable Jason Michalyshen, Public Information Officer Office: (204)986-3061 Fax: (204) 986-3267 Email: WPS-PIO@Winnipeg.ca   Web: www.winnipeg.ca/Police
