Winnipeg Police Service News Release:

Wednesday, November 23, 2011    STOLEN VEHICLE – ARRESTS R11-113776 On November 17, 2011, members of the Winnipeg Police Service received a report of the theft of a green Ford Aerostar van which occurred in the northeast area of the city.   On November 22, 2011, at approximately 10:50 p.m., Uniform Patrol members responded to the 1100 block of Henderson Highway regarding two suspicious males.   Attending members observed a green van in the area at which time computer checks confirmed it to be a stolen vehicle. Officers began following the vehicle for a short period of time. The suspect vehicle and occupants eventually parked in the area of the 900 block of Henderson Highway when officers activated their emergency equipment. Two male suspects exited the stolen vehicle and fled the area on foot in a northbound direction. Officers pursued the males and due to coordinated efforts, both suspects were taken into custody at a nearby business.   A 48 year old male is facing a charge of: Posses Property Obtained by Crime under $5000.00. He was released on a Promise to Appear.   A 31 year old male has been charged with: Posses Property Obtained by Crime under $5000.00 and Fail to Comply with Condition of a Recognizance.
