Monday, July 18th, 2011 2:40 p.m. FATAL FIRE HOMICIDE INVESTIGATION ARREST- UPDATE C11-148499 As previously released, on July 16th, 2011 at approximately 2:00 a.m., emergency personnel responded to a working fire at a residence located in the 200 block of Austin Street North. The investigation has revealed that the building had been occupied by eight individuals prior to the fire taking place. A female suspect was observed attending to the front porch area, and while using an unknown accelerant, ignited the residence. The suspect subsequently fled the area. As a result of the fire, two adult females fled from the building. Six occupants remained inside. Tragically, four males and one female have succumbed to injuries sustained. The investigation continued by members of the Homicide Unit and on July 16th, 2011 at approximately 4:00 p.m., the suspect was located in the area of the 800 block of Main Street and taken into custody. Lulonda Lynn FLETT, 40 years has now been charged with: 2nd Degree Murder x 5 and Attempt Murder x 3 as a result of her alleged involvement. FLETT was detained in custody. The deceased victims, all from Winnipeg, have been identified as follows: Norman Darius ANDERSON, 22 years Maureen Claire HARPER, 54 years Kenneth Bradley MONKMAN, 49 years Dean James STRANDEN, 44 years and Robert Curtis LAFORTE, 56 years One adult male remains in hospital and has been upgraded to stable condition.
