Wednesday, July 27th, 2011
11:30 a.m.
 
SEXUAL ASSAULT INVESTIGATION  C11-154762
On Sunday, July 24th, 2011 at approximately 5:30 a.m., a 15 year old female victim was walking in the area of Pritchard Avenue and Aikins Street when she was approached by a male suspect riding a black mountain bike. The suspect came up behind the victim and grabbed her and began to choke her. 
 
The victim was then taken into a nearby lane and was sexually assaulted. The suspect proceeded to take some of the victim's property as well as a cell phone and then fled the area on the bike. 
 
Police were contacted and entered into an investigation. A sketch of the suspect male has been composed.


 
Suspect is described as:
  • Male, Aboriginal in appearance, in his early 20's
  • Short blonde hair
  • Wearing a black and red checked hoodie, baggy blue jeans and black high-top runners
 Investigators from the Division 13 Crime Unit are continuing with this investigation. Anyone who has information is asked to 986-2848 or CrimeStoppers at 786-TIPS (8477).
 
 
 COMMERICAL ROBBERY         C11-156682
On July 26th, 2011 at approximately 7:45 p.m. Winnipeg Police Service Members responded to a pharmacy within the 1000 of Grant Avenue for a commercial robbery that had just occurred.
 
Upon arrival officers learned that one lone male while armed with a knife attended to a cash register area and took an undisclosed amount of money. The suspect was last seen leaving the scene in a minivan or sport utility vehicle. 
 
The suspect is described as:
Male, Caucasian, approximately 6'0" tall with long shaggy hair. He was wearing a dark coloured jacket dark with sunglasses
 
No one was injured during this incident.
 
This investigation is continuing by members of the Major Crimes Unit. Anyone who may have information regarding this incident or the suspect(s) is asked to contact investigators at 986-6219 or CrimeStoppers at 786-TIPS (8477).
 
 
 
COMMERICAL ROBBERY        C11-156693
On July 26th, 2011 just after 8:20 p.m. Winnipeg Police Service Members were dispatched to a commercial robbery at a retail store within the 1700 block of Kenaston Boulevard. Officers had learned that a suspect male attended to the register area and approached the 19 year old female cashier and demanded and received money. 
 
The suspect is described as:
Male, Caucasian, approximately 18 to 21 years of age, 6'4" tall, approximately 190 pounds with medium length dark hair that appeared to have been dyed. He was wearing a dark coloured hoodie, jeans and sunglasses. 
 
There were no reported injuries.
 
The investigation is continuing. 
 
  
COMMERICAL ROBBERY        C11-156704
On July 26th, 2011 at approximately 8:40 p.m. a lone male suspect attended to a retail store within the 1000 block of Bishop Grandin Boulevard where he approached an 18 year old female cashier and attempted to make a purchase. Once the cash register was opened the suspect demanded and received an undisclosed amount of cash.
 
The suspect was last seen leaving the scene in a sport utility vehicle.
 
The suspect is described as:
Male, Caucasian, approximately 20 years, over six feet tall with a thin build, and long black hair. He was wearing a dark hoodie or jacket, dark pants and sunglasses. 
 
No one was injured.
 
This investigation is continuing by members of the Major Crimes Unit. Anyone who may have information regarding this incident or the suspect(s) is asked to contact investigators at 986-6219 or CrimeStoppers at 786-TIPS (8477).
